2006 Women's World Championships - Egypt
Cameroon and Congo arrive in Alexandria (FIVB)
03/21/2005

Alexandria, Egypt, March 21, 2005 – The Cameroon and RD Congo men’s Volleyball teams arrived in Alexandria on Monday ahead of the 2006 Men’s World Championship second round tournament (Africa Pool B), which starts on Thursday.

The three day tournament will see four teams - hosts Egypt, Cameroon, RD Congo and first round winners Sudan - play off for a spot in the final round in Japan, becoming the first team to join hosts Japan and defending champions Brazil, who automatically qualified, in the last 24.

Local organisers are expecting big crowds at the Sports Union Club in Alexandria, especially after the Egyptian women's team’s great performance in the 2006 Women’s World Championship first round tournament (Africa Pool A) last week, which they won to gain a spot in the final round.
