2006 World Championships
St Kitts Appeals to Corporate Community (FIVB)
03/28/2005
March 28, 2005 – The President of the St. Kitts Amateur
Volleyball Association (SKAVA), Glenn Quinlan, is
appealing to the St. Kitts corporate community to
partner with both the male and female national teams as
they gear up for two very critical 2006 World
Championship tournaments in May and June, respectively.
Quinlan has revealed that the men’s team is currently
undergoing intense practice sessions for their upcoming
2006 Men’s World Championship first round tournament (Norceca
Pool B) in Trinidad and Tobago, from May 24-29, while
the women’s team are having similar training sessions
for their 2006 Women’s World Championship first round
tournament (Norceca Pool B), scheduled for Barbados from
June 15-19.
This is the first time that any Volleyball team from the
Federation will have the opportunity to advance to
compete against top international teams.
The SKAVA President indicated that partnering with any
of the teams will be a very beneficial initiative as
both teams, especially the females, are very successful
and hold top positions in regional Volleyball.
Sponsoring of the teams will not only give economic
mileage to the business entity but it will further fuel
the drive to make Volleyball one of the top sports in
the Federation, he assured.
