2006 Men's World Championships – South Africa
Botswana prepared for titanic Volleyball assignment (FIVB)

Durban, South Africa, April 2, 2005 – The Botswana
Volleyball Federation has confirmed its team, which is
currently immersed in a pre-tournament preparation camp,
to compete in the 2006 Men’s World Championship first
round tournament (Africa Pool B), which will be held in
Durban, South Africa from April 8-10, 2005.
The Botswana side, which is coached by Selebatso Mabutho
and will leave the preparation camp for South Africa on
Thursday, is: Tjiyapo Madeluka (setter), Prince Matsheka
(setter), Pogiso Osupile (Middle Block), Keaikitse
Sekalaba (Middile Blocker), Tabaka Mothudi (Middle
Blocker), Peaceful Seleka (Middle Blocker), Shadrack
Kapeko (Wing Attacker - Captain), Tiro Setlhare (Wing
Attacker), Lee Tshipana (wing attaker), Francis Dingwe
(wing attacker), Johannes Ralegoreng (wing attacker),
Baleseng Boiutmelo (Libero).
The three-day tournament in Durban will see Botswana,
Mauritius, who are both not officially ranked by the
FIVB, and South Africa, ranked 50th in the world, play
off against each other. The winner of the tournament
will advance to a 2006 World Championship round two
tournament to be held in Tunisia from July 26-30 which
Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco are already confirmed to
play in.
Africa has two vacancies in the 2006 Men’s World
Championship with Egypt having already claimed the first
vacancy after winning the 2006 Men’s World Championship
second round tournament (Africa Pool D), on March 26.
