2006 World Championships
Five teams on track for third round in Europe (FIVB)

May 28, 2005 – Five teams took giant steps
towards the third round of the 2006 World Championships
after collecting their second successive victories on
Saturday at three European second round tournaments
currently in progress.
At the men's second round
tournament - Europe Group F in the Czech Republic, the
hosts and Ukraine are top of the table after beating
Denmark 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-20) and England 3-0
(25-19, 25-20, 25-12) respectively. In the men's second
round tournament - Europe Group H in Finland, the hosts
and Germany top the group after defeating Croatia 3-2
(23-25, 25-17, 25-23, 23-25, 15-8) and Slovenia 3-1

second round tournament - Europe Group H in Finland
Finally, in the 2006 Women’s World
Championship second round tournament -
Europe Group D in Azerbaijan, the home side is the only
team to have two victories after beating Belgium 3-1
(35-37, 25-23, 25-17, 25-18) while Romania is now tied
with Belgium in second place with a win and a defeat
after beating Spain 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-21).
