Five final round spots up for grabs in Asia (FIVB)

Beijing,
China, June 15, 2005 - Twelve Asian men’s teams will
play across three 2006 Men’s World Championship Asian
second round tournaments starting this weekend for five
tickets to the final round in Japan at the end of 2006.
The first tournament begins on Friday until Sunday in
Almaty of Kazakhstan where Korea, Kazakhstan and first
round winners Chinese Taipei and the United Arab
Emirates will play in Asia Pool D while Australia, Iran,
Qatar and Uzbekistan ( both advancees from the first
round) will take on each other in Asia Pool F in Tehran
of Iran from June 22-24. The last tournament - Asia Pool
E will be held in India from June 24-26 with China,
India, Thailand and Indonesia participating. Pic: China will play India, Thailand and Indonesia in

The winner of each pool will clinch a spot in the finals
of the 2006 Men’s World Championships in Japan while the
second place getters in each of the three pools will
playoff for two further final round tickets from July 1
to 3, also in India.
