Inspection tour dates set

Tokyo, March 24, 2006: Japan's World Championships infrastructure will come under scrutiny from a representative of the world governing body in June.

Thailand's Shanrit Wongprasert, who is a member of the FIVB's Board of Administration and Sports Events Council, will visit Japan from June 13-29.

He will begin his 10-city inspection tour and series of coordination meetings at Fukuoka before moving on to Hiroshima, Kobe, Osaka, Nagoya, Sapporo, Sendai, Saitama, Nagano and finally to Tokyo.

The women's event will take place from October 31 to November 16 in Tokyo, Sapporo, Kobe, Nagoya and Osaka, while the men will follow in Saitama, Fukuoka, Nagano, Sendai, Hiroshima and Tokyo from November 17 to December 3.

Shanrit, who is also Secretary General of the Thailand Volleyball Association and Chairman of the Sports Events Council of the Asian Volleyball Confederation, will focus his inspection on the training halls for the 48 teams. He will be accompanied by executives from the World Championships organising committee head office and from the Japan Volleyball Association.
