Uriarte names Argentina’s final 12

The time for questions is over. The head coach of Argentina’s men’s team, Jon Uriarte, has provided all the answers with his announcement of the final 12 for the World Championships.

The selection follows six months of hard training and 44 matches against nine national teams around 15 provinces and the capital city, Buenos Aires.

The coaching team also includes Guillermo Orduna, Daniel Lecouna, Julian Alvrez, Osvaldo Celia and Mirta Oliveto.

The team will go on training at Cenard facilities until they leave for Australia on November 3. There, on their first stop on the other side of the world (13 hours time difference), they will play four friendly matches - three against Australia and one against Canada. On November 13 they will travel to Japan.

On Tuesday, October 24, the players and coaching team will receive the media at Cenard facilities after their evening training at 6:00 pm.

The 12 players are: Setters, Luciano De Cecco (Ciudad de Bolivar, 1.89 metres, 18 years old), Nicolas Efron (Alianza, Cba., 1.99, 27). Wing spikers, Gaston Giani (Arkas Saint Joseph, Turkey, 1.94, 27), Gustavo Scholtis (Iraklis, Greece, 2.05, 24), Jeronimo Bidegain (Fenerbahce, Turkey, 2.00, 29), Leandro Concina (Boca Juniors, 1.96, 21). Middle blockers, Alejandro Spajic (Ciudad de Bolivar, 2.04, 30), Gustavo Porporatto (Poiters, France, 1.99, 25), Anibal Gramaglia (Ciudad de Buenos Aires, 2.02, 24). Opposite players, Marcos Milinkovic (Cimed, Brazil, 2.05, 34), Martin Hernandez (Ciudad de Bolivar, 2.03, 21). Libero, Pablo Meana (Olympiakos, Greece, 1.87, 31)
